Sunlight Readable : Hight Brightness

A display becomes less viewable in a bright ambient light. This is true for both light emitting panels such as an OLED or for a transmissive LCD display that uses a backlight. In a bright ambient environment, the light from the sun competes with the light from the display and the perceived contrast goes down. We have two ways to deal with this intrinsic problem.

Building a stronger backlight unit behind the display or more efficient to guide the light from the source to the panel surface, It make the display viewable under sunlight

Anti-reflective coated protection glass can reduce reflection and maximize transmittance

Transflective

 

The transflective technology get enough light from a backlight unit to see the display in darker environments and under bright ambient conditions, light coming through the display is reflected. Such enhance the brightness on the panel surface not only from the backlight unit but also from the reflection.

bonding

Optical bonding is a process which fully laminates the TFT display with the touch screen or the front glass. There is no air-gap any more between display and front glass or touch screen. The bonding material is totally transparent and does not change its structure or color even over long time periods. The process is applied in a clean room environment. The bonding material has optical characteristics, which are matching the TFT display and the glass or touch screen. Therefore there will be no reflective loss like without bonding, where you have two glass/air surfaces with internal and external reflections. In addition the optical bonding method gives mechanical stability and eliminates moisture or particles in between display and touch screen or front glass. Optical Bonding makes a display more robust against shock and vibration. Another advantage is less heat in outdoor use, especially in the sunlight.
